The highlights of Tuscany

Tuscany, the cradle of the Renaissance and the art of living

Tuscany is the most iconic region in Italy. Its landscapes of wooded hills punctuated by cypresses, its medieval castles, its vineyards in Chianti, its cities of art — Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca — and its exceptional gastronomy make it one of the most visited destinations in the world. Tuscany is also the most accessible region from Corsica via Cors'Express ferries.

The main gateway to Tuscany from Corsica is Livorno: the Bastia-Livorno crossing takes about 4 hours. From Livorno, pisa is 15 minutes away by train, Florence 1.5 hours by train, and Siena 1.5 hours away by car. To explore the Tuscan countryside, a car is a must — rental agencies are available at Livorno Centrale train station. THE Tuscany Regional Tourism Office (Visit Tuscany) is an inexhaustible resource of itineraries.
